Mugga dali Thoy/Moong dal Thoy( Konkani recipe)


Yellow split Moong dal is called Mugga dali in Konkani.Mugga Dali Thoy is a tasty and healthy dish prepared with split yellow Moong dal, Green chilly and Ginger. Moong dal Thoy goes we with Rice.

The following ingredients are needed for preparing Moong dal Thoy.


Ingredients:-

Yellow split Moong dal. -1cup
Green chillies.                 -3
Ginger.                            - a small piece.
Curry leaves.                  -1spring
Salt.                                -to taste.

Instructions:-

Wash split yellow Moong dal in water and keep aside

Wash and half slit Green chillies lengthwise and keep aside.

Peel the outer skin of a small Ginger. Wash and chop into small pieces and keep aside.

Meth hod:-

Heat oil in a pan and splutter Mustard seeds and saute well.

Add Green chillies, chopped Ginger pieces and Curry leaves and fry in oil for a second.

Add the washed Moong dal and 3 cup Water and boil well.

Add required Salt and mix well.

Cover and cook on low flame till the Moong dal become soft and cooked well.

Switch off the flame.

A tasty and healthy Mugga Dali Thoy/ Moong dal Thoy is ready to serve with Rice.
