Rajma Masala Curry is a Protein rich Kidney beans curry and one of the healthest and easy to make dish.
Rajma masala is a popular curry made with Kidney beans served with plain Rice,Jeera Rice or Roti.
The following ingredients are needed to prepare this delicious recipe.
Ingredients:-
Rajma . -1 cup
Salt. -to taste.
Onion. - 2 medium size
Oil. -2tbsp
Tamarind pulp. -1tbsp
For grinding the Masala paste:-
Coriander seeds. -1tbsp
Dry Red chilly. - 3
Black pepper. -1tsp
Jeera. -1 tsp
Coconut grated. -1cup
Instructions:-
Wash and soak Rajma in required Water for 8 hours or Overnight.
Pressure cook the Rajma along with soaked Water and little Salt for 6 whistles.Keep aside.
Dry roast 1tbsp Coriander seeds, 3 dry Red chillies, 1tsp Black Pepper, 1tsp Jeera and 1cup grated Coconut till little golden colour.
Grind the above roasted items to a smooth paste adding very little water and keep aside the ground Coconut Masala paste.
Method:-
Heat 2 tbsp Oil in a pan add 2 medium size Onion finely chopped and saute well till it become little translucent.
Add the ground Coconut Masala paste and saute well.
Add the cooked Rajma with cooked Water and add little Salt. Check Salt and mix well.
Add 1tbsp Tamarind pulp and add required Water( if needed) and mix well.
Cover with a lid and boil and cook on simmer till you attain the desired thickness of the gravy.It will take about 20 minutes.
A tasty and healthy Rajma Masala Curry is ready to serve with Roti, ,Plain Rice, Jeera Rice etc.
Rajma Masala is best enjoyed with plain steamed Basmati Rice and Jeera Rice.
