Tomato Rasam is a one of the popular rasam among all types of Rasam.There are various varities of Tomato Rasam..We can make this Tomato Rasam quickly without adding Rasam Powder.I learn this Rasam from my daughter.The recipe is very simple and easy to make.
The following ingredients are needed to prepare this easy to make Tomato Rasam.
Ingredients:-
Oil. - 4tsp
Mustard seeds. -1tsp
Dry red chillies. -3
Curry leaves. -1 spring
Tomato. - 3 medium size
Water. - 3 glass
Salt. -to taste
Garlic cloves. -5 or 8
Pepper powder. -1tbsp
Jeera Powder -1/4tsp
Tamarind. - a small lemon size
Coriander leaves.- a bunch.
Instructions:-
Soak a small lemon size Tamarind in warm water for 5 minutes and squeeze to extract Tamarind Pulp.Keep aside
Wash and chop Tomatoes into small pieces.Keep aside.
Peel and slightly crush 5 or 8 Garlic cloves and keep aside.
Wash, clean and finely chop Coriander leaves.Keep aside.
Method:-
Heat 4 tsp Oil in a pan and splutter 1tsp Mustard seeds. Add 3 dry Red chillies,1spring Curry leaves and saute well.
Add chopped Tomato pieces and saute well for few minutes.
Add 3 glass of Water and required Salt and cook for 2 minutes.
Add the slightly crushed Garlic cloves,1tbsp Pepper powder, 1/4 tsp Jeera powder and the extracted Tamarind pulp.Boil for 5 minutes.
Add a bunch of finely chopped Coriander leaves and boil for 1miinute and switch off the flame.
A tasty and yummy Easy to Make Tomato Rasam is ready to serve with Rice.
