Jackfruit seeds are called Bikkand and Potato is called Kuk in Konkani.
The following ingredients are needed to prepare Bikkand & Kuk Soyi Bajjilli Ghassi.
Ingredients:-
Tur dal. -1/2 cup
Bikkand (Jackfruit seeds). - 6
Potato. - a medium size
Dharambe sol (Kudam puli). - a small piece
Salt. - to taste
For ground Coconut Masala Paste:-
Urad dal. -1tbsp
Coriander seeds. -1tbsp
Red chillies. -8 or 10
Turmeric powder. - a pinch

Instructions:-
1). Remove the white outer skin of the Jackfruit seeds and soak in water for 6 hours. Then scrap the brown outer skin of the Jackfruit seeds and chop into two halves lengthwise and keep aside.
2). Peel and wash Potato and chop into medium square pieces and keep aside.
3). Wash Tur dal in water. Pressure cook Tur dal along with chopped Potato pieces, chopped Jackfruit seeds adding 2 cup of water for 3 whistles or till cooked soft and keep aside.
4). Heat a pan and add Urad dal, dry Red chillies and Coriander seeds and dry roast till nice aroma comes out. Add grated Coconut and roast together till the Coconut gratings become golden brown colour.Switch off the flame and keep aside the roasted ingredients to cool. When little cooled add a pinch of Turmeric powder and mix well.
5). Grind all the roasted ingredients together to a smooth paste without adding water. Keep aside the ground Coconut Masala paste.
Method:-
1). In a cooking vessel add the cooked Potato and Jackfruit seeds (Bikkand) along with 2 cup of water and boil well.
2). Add required Salt and Kudam puli (Dharambe sol) into the vessel and mix well.Boil and cook for 2 minutes on low flame.
3). Add the ground Coconut Masala paste and mix well.Add little more water and make a semi thick gravy. Mix well and boil for 3 minutes on low flame and switch off the flame.
A tasty and delicious Bikkand & Kuk Soyi Bajjilli Ghassi is ready to serve with rice.
