Drumstick leaves Sukke /Mashinga Palle Sukke-Konkani style recipe

Drumstick leaves are called Mashinga Palle   in Konkani. Sukke is a Konkani style Coconut based dry Masala curry goes well as a dry side dish with Rice.


The following ingredients are needed to prepare this delicious Mahsinga Palle  Sukke/ Drumstick Leaves Sukke

Ingredients:-

Drum sticks leaves.                - a bunch

Dharambe sol (Kudam puli).  - a small piece
Salt.                                         - to taste

For Coconut  Masala mixture:-

Grated Coconut or  Desiccated Coconut. -1cup
Red chilly powder.                                    -2 tsp
Turmeric powder.                                      -1/4 tsp

For Seasoning:-

Coconut oil.     - 2 tsp
Urad dal.          -1tsp
Mustard seeds. -1/2 tsp

Instructions:-

Clean and remove the branches and small twigs from the Drumstick leaves and wash the leaves in water and rinse well and keep aside.


In a mixing bowl add grated Coconut or desiccated Coconut, Red chilly powder and Turmeric powder and mix together using your hands. Keep aside the Coconut + Red chilly powder + Turmeric powder mixture.

Method:-

Heat cooking oil / Coconut oil in a pan and add Urad dal and splutter Mustard seeds and saute well.

Add the cleaned Drumstick leaves into the pan and saute well.

Add required Salt and a small piece of Dharambe sol (Kudam puli) into the pan. Sprinkle little water and mix well.Cover the pan with a lid and cook till the Drumstick leaves cooked well and stir in between.

Add the Coconut +Red chilly powder+ Turmeric powder mixture into the pan and mix well with the cooked Drumstick leaves.Cook for 2 minute on low flame. Saute well and switch off the flame.

A tasty and delicious Drumstick leaves Sukke / Mashinga Palle Sukke is ready to serve as a dry side dish with Rice and Dal curry.
