Tomato dal curry is a tasty side dish goes well with Roti,Chapathi, Phulka, Naan , Rice etc.
The following ingredients are needed to prepare this delicious Tomato dal Curry.
Ingredients:-
Tur dal. -3/4 cup
Masoor dal. -1/4 cup
Split yellow Moong dal. -1/2 cup
Tomato. - 3 small
Green chilly. -3
Onion. -1 big
Coriander leaves. - 1bunch
Garlic. -5small flakes
Ginger. -a small piece.
Cumin seeds/ Jeera. -1 tsp
Red chilly powder. -1 tsp
Ghee. -3 tsp
Instructions:-
Wash and soak Tur dal, Moong dal and Masoor dal together in water for half an hour and keep aside.
Wash and finely chop Tomatoes and keep aside.
Finely chop Green chillies into thin roundels and keep aside.
Peel and finely chop Onion and keep aside.
Peel the skin of a small Ginger and chop into small pieces. Keep aside.
Peel and chop Garlic and keep aside.
Wash clean and finely chop Coriander leaves and keep aside.
Method:-
In a cooking vessel add the soaked Tur dal, Moong dal and Masoor and add little Water and mix well.
Add 1tsp chopped Ginger,1 and 1/2 tsp finely chopped Green chilli roundels and little Salt. Mix well.
Cover the cooking vessel with a lid and cook till the three dals cooked well and become soft.Stir in between and switch off the flame.
Heat Ghee in a pan and splutter Cumin seeds.
Add chopped Garlic and saute well till the raw smell goes.
Add 1tsp finely chopped green chilly roundels and fry for a second.
Add finely chopped Onion and saute well till the Onion becomes translucent.
Add Red chilly powder and mix well.
Add finely chopped Tomatoes and saute well till the tomato pieces become mushy.
Add the cooked three dals from the cooking vessel and stir well.
Add required Salt and mix well.
Finely add the chopped Coriander leaves and saute well.
Lower the flame and cook for a minute and switch off the flame.
A tasty , yummy and delicious Tomato Dal Curry is ready to serve with Roti, Chapathi, Phulkas or hot steamed Rice.
