Godu Gova Polo (Sweet Wheat Dosa)- Konkani recipe

Godu Gova Polo is a Konkani style sweet dosa made with Wheat flour mixed with Rice flour, Jaggery, Banana, Cardamom and Coconut grating.

Ingredients:-

Wheat flour.     -2 cup
Rice flour.        -1/4 cup
Small Banana.  -3
Jaggery.            -1 cup
Cardamom.       -4 pods
Coconut grated. -1/2 cup
Salt.                    -1tsp

Instructions:-

Peel the skin of small Bananas and keep aside.

Peel the skin and crush the Cardamom pods and keep aside.

Grate Jaggery with a kitchen knife and boil the grated Jaggery in a small vessel adding 2 cup of Water till Jaggery dissolves in Water.Filter the Jaggery water to remove the impurities and keep aside to cool.



For Preparing the Dosa batter-

In a vessel add Wheat flour, Rice flour and mix well.

Add small Banana and mash thoroughly with your hands and mix with the Wheat flour and Rice flour.

Add the filtered and cooled Jaggery Water and 1tsp Salt.Mix well all the ingredients without any lumps.

Add Coconut grating and crushed Cardamom pods and mix the batter well.

The consistency of the batter is semi thick.Keep the batter to rest for half an hour.




Method:-

1. Heat a dosa tawa on medium heat and grease the hot tawa with little Ghee.

2. Mix the dosa batter in the vessel with a laddle.


3.Take a laddle full of sweet dosa batter. 


4. Pour the dosa batter in the centre of the dosa tawa and spread a little to make a thick and small round dosa.Do not spread too much.




5. Let it cook on low flame.


6. When the base of the dosa is cooked well apply little Ghee on the top and sides of the dosa.


7. When one side is cooked flip the dosa with a spatula to cook the other side.


8. When both sides cooked well flip the dosa again and remove from hot tawa  and transfer to a serving plate.


A very tasty and delicious Sweet Wheat Dosa is ready to serve with a cup of hot tea or Coffee.
