Kulitha Kismuri / Horse gram Kismuri / Konkani recipe.

Horse gram is called Kulithu in Konkani.Kulitha Kismuri is a Konkani style delicious side dish.The recipe is very simple and easy to make with few ingredients.The following ingredients are needed to prepare Kulitha Kismuri.

Ingredients:-

Horse gram.  -1cup
Onion.            -2 medium size
Green chilly  . -1
Salt.                - to taste


For grinding:-

Grated Coconut. -1cup
Coriander seeds. -1tsp
Red chillies.         - 3
Tamarind.             -a marble size



Instructions:-

Wash and soak Horse gram in water for 8 hours or overnight Drain and pressure cook the soaked Horse gram adding 1/2 cup of Water and Salt for 2 whistles.Keep aside.

Wash and finely chop Green Chillies and keep aside.

Peel,wash and finely chop Onion and keep aside.

Heat little oil in a pan and roast Red chillies and Coriander seeds together and keep aside.

Grind the grated Coconut along with roasted Red chillies, Coriander seeds and Tamarind to a coarse paste without adding water and keep aside.



Method:-

In a bowl add the finely chopped Green chillies and Onion.

Add little Salt and mix well with the finely chopped Green chillies and Onion pieces.

Add the cooked Horse gram and mix well with the Onion Green chilly Salt mixture.

Add the ground Coconut masala paste and mix with all the ingredients in the bowl .

A tasty Kulitha Kismuri / Horse Gram Kismuri is ready to serve as a side dish with Rice and Dal curry.
