Broken Wheat And Moongdal Khichdi


A delicious Khichdi made with Broken Wheat and split yellow Moongdal.The following ingredients are needed to prepare Broken Wheat And Moongdal Khichdi.

Ingredients:-

Broken Wheat.              -1cup
Split yellow Moongdal. -1/4 cup
Turmeric powder.           -1/4 tsp
Ghee.                              - 2tbsp
Salt.                                 - to taste

For Seasoning:-

Ghee.              -1tsp
Cumin seeds.  -1/2tsp
Green chillies. -2
Curry leaves.   -1spring
Hing powder.   -1tsp

Instructions:-

Wash 1/4 cup split yellow Moongdal in water 2 /3 times.Drain water completely from Moong dal and keep aside.

Wash 1cup Broken Wheat for 2 /3 times in water and drain water completely and keep aside.

Method:-

In a pressure cooker add 2tbsp Ghee, Broken Wheat, split yellow Moong dal, Turmeric powder, required Salt and 4 cup of water.Close the cooker lid and cook for 2 whistles on medium flame and keep aside.

Heat 1tsp Ghee in a pan for seasoning and splutter Cumin seeds and saute well.Add slit Green chillies and Curry leaves and fry in Ghee for a minute. Add Hing powder. Saute well and switch off the flame.

Open the cooker lid and pour the above seasoning into the Broken wheat and Moogdal Khichdi in the pressure cooker.

Transfer the Broken Wheat and Moongdal Khichdi to a serving bowl.

A tasty  and delicious Broken Wheat And Moongdal Khichdi is ready to serve with Curd or Pickle or with roasted Papad.
