Green peas Biriyani /Matar Biryani is a tasty, flavorful and delicious rice dish served with plain curd or raita.
The following ingredients are needed to prepare Grean peas Biriyani / Matar Biryani.
Ingredients:-
Basmati rice. -1 cup
Green peas. - 1cup (frozen)
Bay leaves. -2 or 3
Cumin seeds. - 1/4tsp
Fennel seeds. -1/4tsp
Cinnamon. - 2 small piece
Cloves. - 4
Cardamom. -3
Onion. - 2 or 3

Green peas. - 1cup (frozen)

Salt. -to taste.
Ghee. -2tbsp
For grinding the Coconut Green chilly Mint leaves Paste:-
Grated Coconut. -1cup
Mint leaves. -1/2cup
Dry Red chillies. -2
Green chillies. -2
Ginger. - a small piece
Garlic. -3 cloves
Garam masala powder. -1/2tsp
Instructions:-
Wash and soak Basmati rice in water for 20 minutes. Drain water completely and keep aside.
Peel and chop Onion into thin lengthy pieces and keep aside.
Peel, wash and chop Ginger and keep aside.
Peel the Garlic and keep aside.
Clean and wash Mint leaves and keep aside.
Grind grated Coconut, Green chillies, dry Red chillies, Garam masala powder, Ginger, Garlic and Mint leaves to a smooth paste and keep aside the ground Coconut green chilly mint leaves paste.
Method:-
1. Heat 2tbsp Ghee in a pan and add Bay leaves, Cumin seeds, Fennel seeds, Cinnamon, Cloves and Cardamom and saute well.
2. Add chopped Onion pieces and saute well till Onion pieces become translucent.
3. Add the ground Coconut green chilly mint leaves paste and mix well.Saute well till the raw smell of the ground masala paste goes away.
4. Add frozen Green peas into the cooker and mix well.
5. Add soaked Basmati rice into the cooker vessel.
6. Add required Salt and 2 cup of water into the cooker vessel.
7. Mix all the ingredients together and close the cooker vessel with lid and pressure cook for 3 whistles.
8. When the pressure releases open the cooker lid. Gently fluff the rice with a fork.
9. Transfer the Green peas Biriyani to a serving plate.
