Soft Toor dal Dosa (Step by Step Method With Photos).


A tasty and soft Tur dal dosa served with onion chutney as a breakfast dish. A detailed Toor dal dosa recipe and step by step method with photos.

The following ingredients are needed to prepare Soft Toor dal Dosa.

Idli Rice.                      - 1cup
Toor dal.                       -1/4 cup
Whole white Urad dal. -1/4 cup
Methi seeds.                 - 1tsp
Poha.                            -1/4 cup
Salt.                              -to taste

Instructions:-

1. Wash and soak Idli Rice in water for 5 hours.

2. Wash and soak Toor dal in water for 5 hours.

3. Wash and soak whole white Urad dal along with Methi seeds in water for 3 hours.


4. Wash and soak Poha in water for 3 hours.

Method:-

1. Grind soaked Urad dal along with soaked Methi seeds to a smooth paste. 


2. Add soaked Poha into the grinder.


3. Grind the soaked Poha along with ground Urad dal Methi seeds paste to a smooth batter.

4. Transfer the Urad dal Methi seeds Poha batter mixture in a vessel.

5. Add soaked Toor dal in the grinder and grind to a smooth paste.


6. Add soaked Idli Rice into the grinder and grind along with ground Toor dal paste to a smooth batter.


7. Transfer the Toor dal Rice batter mixture in the same vessel.


8. Add required Salt and mix together both the batter mixture in the vessel.


9. Keep the vessel in a warm place to ferment the batter.It will take 8 to 12 hours to ferment the batter.Fermented batter is ready to roast soft dosa.


10. Heat a dosa tawa on medium heat.

11. Mix the fermented dosa batter with a laddle and take a laddle full of batter from the vessel.

12. Pour the dosa batter on the tawa and spread it to make a thin dosa.

13. Apply little oil on the sides of the dosa with a oil brush. Cover and cook on low flame.

14. When base of the dosa is cooked well apply little oil on  the top of the dosa with oil brush.

15. Flip the dosa with a flat spatula to cook the other side.

16. When both sides of the dosa is cooked well, fold the roasted dosa on one side with flat spatula.


17. Transfer the roasted dosa to a serving plate. Make dosas with the remaining batter.

A tasty well roasted soft Toor dal dosa is ready to serve with Onion Chutney.
