Gabbya Kismuri (Banana Stem Moong dal Salad).


Gabbya Kismuri is a healthy salad made with Banana stem and split yellow Moong dal adding gently crushed mixture of finely chopped Onion, Green chilles, grated Coconut and Lemon juice.

The following ingredients are needed to prepare Banana Stem Moong dal Salad / Gabbya Kismuri.

Ingredients:-

Banana stem.      -2 cup finely chopped
Moong dal.         -1/4 cup
Green chillies.    -2
Onion.                 -1
Grated Coconut.  -1 cup
Lemon.                -1
Coriander leaves. -few
Salt.                       -to taste

For Seasoning:-

Coconut oil.     -2tsp
Mustard seeds. -1tsp
Curry leaves.    -1 spring

Instructions:-

1). Wash and chop Banana stem into thin round slieces and finely chop the round slices. Keep aside

2). Wash and soak  split yellow Moong dal for 45 minutes. Drain water completely and keep aside.

3). Wash and chop Green chillies into thin round pieces and keep aside.

4). Wash and finely chop Coriander leaves and keep aside.

5). Peel, wash and finely chop Onion and keep aside.

Method:-

1). In a mixing bowl add the chopped Green chilly pieces, finely chopped Onion and required Salt. Mash well with your hands.

2). Add soaked Moong dal and finely chopped Banana stem into the mixing bowl and mix with a spoon.

3). Add lime juice into the mixture and mix well.

4). Add grated Coconut and mix again with all the ingredients in the mixing bowl and keep aside.

5). Heat oil in a pan for seasoning and splutter Mustard seeds and saute well. Add Curry leaves and saute well for a second. Switch off the flame.

6). Pour the above seasoning into the mixing bowl and mix well.

7). Add finely chopped Coriander leaves and mix with all the ingredients in the mixing bowl.

8). Transfer the Gabbya Kismuri / Banana stem Moong dal Salad to a serving bowl.

A healthy and tasty Banana stem Moong dal Salad / Gabbya Kismuri is ready to serve.
