Jeera Aloo Recipe.



Jeera Aloo is a simple and quick to make delicious Potato curry seasoned with Jeera (Cumin seeds) and Indian Spices, served as a side dish for chapathi, phulkas, bread or rice.

The following ingredients are needed to prepare Jeera Aloo Recipe.

Ingredients:-

Potato.                         -5 medium size
Green chillies.             -3
Garlic.                          -5 cloves
Red chilly powder.       -1tsp
Coriander powder.        - 1tsp
Turmeric powder.          -1/4tsp
Garam Masala powder. -1tsp
Amchur powder.            -1/2tdp
Kasoori methi.               - 1tsp
Coriander leaves.            - few
Salt.                                 - to taste

For Seasoning:-

Coconut oil /Oil.       - 4tsp
Jeera (Cumin seeds). -2tsp

Instructions:-

1). Wash, peel and chop the Potatoes into medium cubes and keep aside.

2). In a small bowl add Coriander powder, Red chilly powder, Turmeric powder, Garam Masala powder, Amchur powder and Kasoori methi. Mix together all the ingredients in the bowl.Keep aside the Spice Powder mixture.

3). Wash and slit Green chillies lengthwise and keep aside.

4). Peel and finely chop Garlic and keep aside.

5). Wash and finely chop few Coriander leaves and keep aside.

Method:-

1). Heat 4tsp Coconut oil or Cooking oil in a pan and splutter 2tsp Jeera (Cumin seeds) and saute well.

2). Lower the flame and add finely chopped Garlic into the pan . Saute well until the Garlic become slight brown in colour and nice aroma comes. Garlic should not be burnt.

3). Add the chopped Potato cubes into the pan and saute well continuously till the Potato cubes become soft and half cooked.

4). Add slit Green chillies into the pan and fry well for 3 minutes.

5). Add the Spice Powder mixture into the pan and saute well till the Potato cubes are nicely coated with the Spice Powder mixture.

6). Add required Salt into the pan and mix well. Cover and cook the Potato cubes for 3 minutes and switch off the flame.

7). Add few finely chopped Coriander leaves and mix well.

8). Transfer the Jeera Aloo curry to a serving plate.

A tasty and delicious  Jeera Aloo is ready to serve as a side dish with Chapathi, Roti, Phulka or Rice.
