Grated Raw Banana Sukke


Grated Raw Banana Sukke is a tasty and healthy coconut based dry side dish made with boiled and grated raw bananas and goes well with rice or chapathi.Grated Raw Banana Sukke recipe is explained with step by step method and photos.

The following ingredients are needed to prepare Grated Raw Banana Sukke.

Ingredients:-

Raw Banana.          - 3 (firm and fresh)
Onion.                    - 2 big
Grated Coconut.    -1 cup or desiccated coconut
Red chilly powder.-1tsp
Turmeric powder.  -1/2 tsp
Mustard seeds.       -1tsp
Coconut oil.            -2tsp
Salt.                        -to taste

Instructions:-

1). Wash raw bananas and chop both the ends and peel the skin. Boil the raw bananas in sufficient water and cook until soft but not mushy. Drain soaked water completely and keep aside the boiled raw bananas to cool. Once cooled grate the boiled bananas using a grater with big holes and keep aside in a bowl.

2). Peel, wash and finely chop onion and keep aside on a plate.


3). Keep aside grated coconut or desiccated coconut on a pate.
Desiccated Coconut

Method:-

1). Heat coconut oil in a wide bottom pan and splutter mustard seeds and saute well.


2). Add finely chopped onion and saute well until the onion pieces become translucent.

3). Add red chilly powder and turmeric powder into the pan and saute well with cooked onion pieces.


4). Add required salt into the pan and mix well.

5). Add grated coconut or desiccated coconut into the pan and mix with the spicy onion mixture.

6). Add boiled and grated banana pieces into the pan.

7). Sprinkle little water and mix the grated banana onion coconut mixture with a spoon.

8). Cook for 2 minutes on low flame and saute well in between.Switch off the flame.


9). Transfer the grated raw banana sukke to a serving bowl.

A tasty and healthy Grated Raw Banana Sukke is ready to serve as a side dish with rice or chapathi.
