Lemon Leaves Chutney


Lemon leaves chutney is a lip smacking and aromatic side dish made with fresh and tender lemon leaves, goes well with rice, curd rice, kanji (rice gruels) etc.

The following ingredients are needed to prepare Lemon Leaves Chutney.

Ingredients:-

Tender Lemon leaves. - 25
Dry Red chillies.         - 6
Tamarind.                    - a gosseberry size.
Hing powder.               -1tsp
Curry leaves.                -1spring
Salt.                              - to taste
Coconut oil.                  -1tsp

Instructions:-

Wash and clean the tender lemon leaves. Pat dry with a clean cloth and keep aside.

Method:-

1). In a mixer grinder add the tender lemon leaves, dry red chillies, tamarind, curry leaves, hing powder and required salt. Grind all the ingredients together to a fine paste adding very little water.

2). Transfer the ground lemon leaves chutney to a bowl. Add 1tsp Coconut oil over the chutney and mix well.

A tasty Lemon leaves chutney is ready to serve with rice, curd rice, kanji (rice gruels) etc. This chutney remain good for 2 weeks.
