Rava Roti/ Sooji Roti


Rava Roti/ Rava Rotti/ Sooji Roti is an easy to make tasty and delicious breakfast dish made with sooji rava. Rava Roti recipe is given below with step by step photos.

The following ingredients are needed to prepare Rava Roti / Sooji Roti.

Ingredients:-

Sooji Rava.         - 1 cup
Curd.                   - 1 cup
Onion.                 - 1
Green chilly.        - 2
Curry leaves.       - 1 spring
Black Pepper.      - 10 corns
Grated Coconut.  - 1/2 cup
Coriander leaves. - few
Salt.                      - to taste

Instructions:-

Finely chop onion, chop green chillies into thin round pieces, roughly crush pepper corn, finely chop coriander leaves, freshly grate coconut, finely chop curry leaves and keep aside on a plate.

Method:-

1). In a mixing bowl add 1cup sooji rava.

2). Add 1cup curd into the bowl.

3). Mix the curd with sooji rava adding 2 tbsp of water using your hands and keep aside the rava curd mixture for 30 minutes to rest.

4). Add thinly chopped green chillies, roughly crushed pepper corns, finely chopped curry leaves, freshly grated coconut, finely chopped coriander leaves, finely chopped onion and required salt into the bowl.

5). Mix well all the ingredients in the bowl and make a little thick sooji rava batter.

6). Apply little oil on a plastic sheet and keep it on a plate.Take a ladle of sooji rava batter and put it on the greased plastic sheet.

7). Wet your hands and pat on the rava batter to spread it thinly on the plastic sheet and make a circular shape roti.

8). Heat a non stick tawa on medium heat.Lower the flame and transfer the thin roti from plastic sheet to tawa upside down and gently press on all its sides.

9). Pour little oil on all sides of the roti and roast on medium flame.

10). When one side is roasted well flip the rava roti to cook the other side.

11). Remove the well roasted rava roti from tawa and transfer to a serving plate.

12). Repeat the same process and make rava roti with the remaining batter.

Rava Roti is ready to serve as such or with chutney or any side dish of your choice.
