Bakery Style Coconut Bun / Dilkush / Dilpasand Recipe
Coconut Bun / Dilkush / Dilpasand is a homemade bakery style coconut bun stuffed with sweet coconut tutti frutti mixture baked in oven and a very tasty teatime snack.
The following ingredients are needed to prepare Bakery Style Coconut Bun / Dilkush / Dilpasand recipe.
Ingredients:-
All purpose flour/ Maida.-2 cup
Milk (lukewarm). -1/2 çup
Yeast. -1/2 tbsp
Sugar. -2 tbsp
Salt. -1tsp
Water. -2 tbsp
Butter (melted). -2 tbsp
Grated coconut. -1/3 cup
Dessicated coconut.-1/4 cup
Powdered sugar. -1/4 cup
Cardamom powder. -1tsp
Cashews. -10
Almond. -10
Tutti fruity. -2 tbsp
Instructions:-
1). In a large glass mix together lukewarm milk and sugar. Add yeast into the milk sugar mixture and stir well. Keep aside the yeast mixture for 5 minutes to ferment.
2). In a bowl add freshly grated coconut, desiccated coconut, powdered sugar, cardamom powder, finely chopped cashews, finely chopped almonds, tutti fruity and mix together all the above ingredients using your hand. Keep aside the sweet coconut tutti frutti mixture for filling.
Method:-
1). In a mixing bowl add all purpose flour (maida), salt, melted butter, fermented yeast mixture, water and knead together to form a soft dough.Grease a pan with little oil and keep the dough in the oil coated pan and keep it aside for 2 hours to rest.After 2 hours dough will be double in size.
2). After 2 hours knead the dough again. Divide the dough into 2 equal portion of dough balls. Roll both the dough balls into equal round shapes.
3). Keep one rolled out round portion into a greased tray. Add sweet coconut filling on top of it leaving some space around the edges.
4). Brush little milk on the edges. Place second rolled out dough on top of the sweet coconut filling and gently press around the edges, so that both the dough stick together. Brush little milk all over the bun. Make a small X mark with knife in the middle.
5). Preheat oven at 180 degree C for 10 minutes. Place the tray inside the preheated oven and bake the bun for 30 to 35 minutes until it forms golden brown on the top.
6). Once done take out the tray from oven and let it cool.Once it cooled cut the coconut buns into pieces and store it in airtight box.
Homemade Bakery Style Coconut Bun / Dilkush / Dilpasand is ready to serve with hot tea or coffee.
