TENDER GREEN PEAS MASALA CURRY / Tender Peas Masala / Matar Masala

The following ingredients are needed to prepare Green peas Masala Curry.

Ingredients:-

Tender Green peas.    -1cup
Coconut oil.                 -3tsp
Onion.                          -1 big
Green chilly.                 -2
Ginger.                         -1/2 inch piece
Garlic                            -3
Curry leaves.                -1 spring
Coriander powder.        -1tsp
Red Chilly powder.        -1tsp
Turmeric powder.          -1/4 tsp
Tomato.                         -1 big
Garam masala powder. -1/2tsp
Ghee.                            -1tsp

Salt.                               - to taste.

Instructions:-


Remove the tender Green peas from the pods and discard the pods.Clean and pressure cook the tender Green peas adding Salt and required water for 2 whistle. Keep aside.


Peel,wash and finely chop Onion and keep aside.

Wash and half slit Green chilly lengthwise. Keep aside.

Peel the skin, wash and finely chop Ginger and Garlic and keep aside.

Wash and finely chop Tomato and keep aside.


Method:-


Heat Coconut oil in a pan and add finely chopped Onion and saute well till the Onion becomes translucent.

Add half slit Green chillies, finely chopped Ginger, Garlic and add Curry leaves and saute well.

Lower the flame and add Coriander powder, Red chilly powder and Turmeric powder and saute well.

Add finely chopped Tomatoes and saute well till the Tomatoes become mushy.

Add the cooked tender Green peas along with 1/4 cup  of water and saute well.

When the Masala coated well with the Green peas add Garam Masala powder and mix well.

Finely add 1tsp Ghee and mix well with the Green peas Masala Curry and switch off the flame.

A tasty yummy tender Green Peas Masala Curry is ready to serve.

Serve this  tender Peas Masala Curry with roti, chapathi, phulka ,poori, pulavu and can be served as a delicious side dish with hot steamed rice.

Note-


If using dry Green peas, wash and soak them in Water for 8 hours.Pressure cook the soaked Green peas
adding Salt and required Water for 4 whistles on high flame.

If you want to cook the dry Green peas immediately you can soak them in hot Water for 3 hours.


If using frozen Green peas, do not pressure cook the frozen Green peas.Just rinse it well and cook seperately till soft and add it to the  curry.
