Raw Mango is known as Jeevo Ambo in Konkani.Jeevo Ambya Saaru is a delicious Rasam prepared with raw mango.The raw Mango pulp mixed with Water, Salt and ground masala Powder and seasoned in Ghee makes the rasam recipe more tasty, delicious and great.The recipe is simple, quick and easy to prepare.
The following ingredients are needed to prepare this lip smacking Raw Mango Rasam recipe.
Ingredients :-
Raw Mango. -1 medium
Green chilly. -2
Coriander leaves -a bunch
Salt. - to taste
For grinding Spice Masala powder:-
Coriender seeds. -1tsp
Black Pepper. -1tsp
Cumin seeds/Jeera. -1tsp
For Seasoning :-
Ghee. -1tsp
Mustard seeds.-1/2tsp
Cumin seeds. -1/2tsp
Hing powder. -1tsp
Curry leaves. -1spring
[Or you can seasoned this Raw Mango Rasam with crushed Garlic, if you need Garlic flavour to the Mango Rasam. Ingredients for Garlic seasoning:- Ghee. -1tsp, Garlic. - 4 crushed]
Instructions :-
Wash and chop one medium size raw Mango with skin and boil till soft and cook well.
Remove the skin and grind the cooked raw Mango to get a smooth Pulp. Keep aside the ground Mango pulp.
Dry roast Coriander seeds, Black Pepper and Cumin seeds till nice aroma comes on low flame and grind to a fine but little coarse powder.Keep aside the ground Spice Masala powder.
Wash and half slit Green chillies lengthwise and keep aside.
Wash and finely chop Coriander leaves and keep aside.

Method :-
In a cooking vessel add the ground Mango pulp with little water and boil for 2 minutes.
Add the ground Spice Masala powder and mix well with the raw Mango pulp.
Add required amount of Salt and 1cup of water and boil for 2 minutes.
Add half slit Green chillies and boil for few minutes.
Add finely chopped Coriander leaves and mix well. Switch off the flame.
Heat 1tsp Ghee in a pan.Add Mustard seeds and Cumin seeds.Let it splutter.
Add Curry leaves and Hing powder and saute for a minute.Switch off the flame.
Pour the above seasoning into the Raw Mango Rasam in the cooking vessel.
A lip smacking Raw Mango Rasam is ready to serve with hot Rice
OR
You can season the Raw Mango Rasam with crushed Garlics if you like Garlic flavour to the Rasam.
For Garlic Seasoning in Raw Mango Rasam:-
Peel the skin and slightly crush the Garlic and keep aside.
Heat 1tsp Ghee in a pan and fry the crushed Garlics till golden and switch off the flame.
Pour the above seasoning into the Raw Mango Rasam in the vessel.
A lip smacking Garlic flavoured hot Raw Mango Rasam is ready to serve with hot steamed Rice.]
