BONDI PHULLA SUKKHAE - Konkani dish / Banana Flower Coconut Masala Stir fry

Banana Flower is called Bondi Phool in Konkani.Bondi Phulla Sukkhae is a tasty and delicious Konkani style Banana Flower Coconut Masala Stir Fry.

The following ingredients are needed to prepare this delicious recipe.


Ingredients:-

Banana Flowers. -2 cup( Bondi Phool)
Salt.                     -to taste


For grinding Coconut Masala paste:-

Coconut grated.   -1 cup
Dry Red chillies.  - 3
Turmeric powder.-1/4 tsp


For Seasoning:-

Coconut oil/Oil.-2 tbsp
Urad dal.           -1 tsp
Mustard seeds. -1 tsp
Dry Red chilly. -1


Instructions:-

Remove the red outer petals of the Banana Flower and collect the white Banana flowers.Remove the pestils inside each flowers and finely chop the White flowers and keep them in Water for few minutes and then keep aside in a plate.

Grind 1cup grated Coconut, 3 dry Red chillies, 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder to a coarse paste.Keep aside.


Method:-

Heat 2tbsp Coconut Oil or any cooking oil in a pan and splutter Mustard seeds and saute well.

Add Urad dal,1dry Red chilly broken into two halves and saute well.

Add the finely chopped white Banana flowers and stir well.

Cover and cook for 5 minutes till the Flowers cooked well.

Add Salt and mix well.Cook till the water from the flowers evaporates.

Add the coarsely ground Coconut Masala paste and mix well.Donot add Water.Stir in between.

Then switch off the flame.

A tasty Konkani style Bondy Phulla Skkhae/ Banana Flower Coconut Masala Stir Fry is ready to serve as a side dish with Rice.
