The following ingredients are neeed to prepare this tasty and delicious Raw Banana & Yam Curry.
Ingredients:-
Raw Banana. - 1
Yam. -a small piece
Black Pepper. -2tsp
Turmeric powder. -1/4tsp
Salt. -to taste.
Curd. -2 cup
For Grinding Masala Paste:-
Coconut grated. -1 cup
Cumin seeds. -1/2tsp
Green chillies. -3
For Seasoning:-
Coconut oil -1tsp
Mustard seeds. -1/2tsp
Dry Red chillies. -3
Curry leaves. -1spring
For additional Seasoning:-
Ghee -1tsp
Fenugreek/Methi seeds. -1/2tsp
Instructions:-
Clean,remove the outer skin, chop and wash a small piece of Yam into small square pieces.Keep aside.
Peel the skin of 1 Raw Banana. Chop and wash into small square pieces.Keep aside.
Crush coarsely 2tsp whole Black Pepper.Keep aside
Broke the dry red chillies into halves and keep aside.
Grind 1cup grated Coconut,1/2tsp Cumin seeds/Jeera and 3 Green chillies into a smooth paste. Keep aside.
Method:-
Boil 2cup Water in a cooking vessel.Add the chopped Yam pieces and the raw Banana piecess.
Add coarsely crushed pepper, 1/4tsp Turmeric powder and Salt.Close the lid and cook till the chopped Yam pieces and Banana pieces become soft.
Lower the flame and add 2 cup whisked Curd and saute continously with a laddle.
When the Curd little absorbed add th ground Coconut Masala paste and mix well with cooked Banana and Yam pieces.Cook for a minuteand when it just starts to boil switch off the flame.

Heat 1tsp Coconut Oil and Splutter 1/2tsp Mustard seeds and saute well.Add
Add the seasoning into the Curry in the cooking vessel.
In the same pan add 1tsp Ghee .Add 1/2tsp Methi seeds and fry till aroma comes.Add this fried Methi seeds into the curry in the cooking vessel.
A tasty Kurukku Kalan/Raw Banana & Yam Curry using Curd is ready to serve with plain Rice.
