PANEER BUTTER MASALA


Paneer is a fresh Cheese made by curdling the boiled milk with Lemon juice.Paneer is a delicious dish rich in Calcium and Protein.Paneer cubes are available in super markets. We can make varities of dishes with Paneer cubes like Paneer Capsicum Masala, Palak Paneer, Paneer Butter Masala.Paneer Butter Masala is one of the most popular and famous Paneer dish in India.Paneer Butter Masala goes well with plain Rice, Roti, Chapathi, Phulkas, Biryani etc.

The following ingredients are needed to prepare .

Ingredients:-

Paneer                         -200 gram
Butter.                         -2 tbsp
Cashewnust.                -10
Bay leaf.                      -1
Cinnamon .                  -1 inch stick.
Onion.                          -2 medium size
Ginger paste.                -1tsp
Garlic paste.                 -1/2 tsp
Tomato.                         - 4
Chilly powder.              -1tsp

Coriander powder.        -2tsp
Turmeric powder.         -1/4 tsp
Garam masala powder.-1/2 tsp
Water.                           -2 cup
Salt.                              -to taste
Sugar.                           -1/4 tsp

Kasoori methi leaves.  -1tsp [dry]


Instructions:-

Peel, wash and finely chop Onion and keep aside.

Wash and grind Tomatoes to a smooth paste/ puree without adding Water and keep aside the ground Tomato paste.

Chop Paneer into small cubes and keep aside.[You can fry the Paneer cubes in little oil till slight golden colour]

Boil Cashewnuts in water for 10 minutes and soak them in hot water for half an hour and grind to a smooth paste without adding water. Keep aside the ground Cashew paste.


Crush the dry Kasoori methi leaves and keep aside.


Method:-

Heat 2tbsp Butter in a pan on low flame and add Bay leaf and  Cinnamon and saute well.

Add finely chopped Onion and saute well till the Onion pieces become translucent.

Add Ginger paste and Garlic paste and fry well for 2 minutes, till the raw smell goes off.

Add  ground Tomato paste and saute well on low flame.

Add Kashmiri Red chilly powder, Coriander powder, Turmeric powder and Garam Masala powder and stir well on low flame.

Add 2cup of Water and mix well. Cover the pan with a lid and boil on low flame for 2 minutes.

Add  required Salt and 1/4 tsp Sugar and mix well.

Add the ground Cashewnut paste and mix well.

The consistency of the gravy is semi thick. 
Add little water according to the consistency and boil for 2 minutes on low flame.

Add the chopped Paneer cubes and cook on low flame till it become soft and well cooked. [You can add fried Paneer cubes in the gravy]

Add crushed Kasoori methi leaves and mix well with the gravy. Switch off the flame.Adding dry Kasoori methi leaves makes the dish more tasty.

A very tasty and delicious Paneer Butter Masala is ready to serve with Chapathi, Phulkas, Biryani, Pulavu, Plain Rice etc.
