ALLE (Ginger Chutney) a konkani Recipe



Alle is a Konkani style curd based Ginger Chutney.Alle is one of the main side dish in Konkani meals prepared during all important religious functions and festivals in GSB Community.The consistency of the Alle[Ginger chutney] is thick and served as a side dish with Rice.

The following ingredients are needed to prepare this delicious side dish.

Ingredients:-


Coconut grated. -1 cup
Green chilly.       -5
Ginger.               -1 inch piece fresh.
Curry leaves.     -1 spring
Salt.                   -to taste
Curd.                 -1 cup sour 



For Seasoning:-


Coconut oil.       -2 tsp
Mustard seeds. -1tsp
Cumin seeds  . -1/2 tsp
Curry leaves.    -1 spring




Method:-


Grind the grated Coconut, Green chillies, chopped Ginger and Curry leaves to a thick paste.

Transfer the ground chutney in a vessel.

Add required Salt and mix well.

Add Curd and mix everything well.

The consistency of the Chutney is little thick.

Heat Coconut oil in a pan n for seasoning.

Splutter Mustard seeds and Cumin seeds and saute well.

Add Curry leaves and fry in oil for a second and switch off the flame.

Pour this seasoning into the Alle/ Ginger Chutney in the vessel.


A tasty and delicious Alle/Ginger Chutney is ready to serve as a side dish with Rice.
