Ambya Sasmidi / Spicy and sour Raw Mango [konkani recipe

Ambya Sasmidi is a spicy and sour raw Mango dry curry served as a side dish with Rice.The following ingredients are needed to prepare this spicy Mango.

Ingredients:-

Raw and sour Mango. -1 big and firm
Salt.                             -to taste
Cooking oil.                 -1tsp
Coconut oil.                 -1tsp
Green chilly.                 -2 small
Kashmiri dry Red chilly.-5 or 1tsp- Kashmiri Red chilly powder
Mustard seeds.             -1tsp
Hing powder.                 -2 tsp



Instructions:-


Chop the raw and sour Mango with skin into medium cubes and keep aside.

Apply little Salt on the raw mango pieces and keep it for 2 minutes.

Chop the Green chillies into thin roundels and keep aside.

Crush the raw Mustard seeds and grind with Red chillies and Hing powder to a fine chilly paste adding very little Water and keep aside



Method:-

Heat cooking oil,/ Coconut oil in a pan and add the chopped Green chilly roundels and fry in oil.

Add chopped Mango pieces and saute well and switch off the flame.

Add the ground Chilly + Mustard paste and mix well with the chopped raw Mango pieces.

Pour 1tsp Coconut oil over the spicy and sour mango dry curry and mix well.

A tasty, spicy and sour Ambya Sasmidi( Spicy and sour Raw mango) is ready to serve as a dry side dish with Rice.
