The following ingredients are needed to prepare Breadfruit Masala Gravy.
Ingredients:-
Breadfruit. - a firm and mature one.
Tur dal. - 1/2 cup
Salt. - to taste.
Dharambe sol - a small piece (Kudam puli)

For grinding the Coconut Masala paste:-
Coconut grated . -1 cup
Dry Red chillies. - 6 or 8
Urad dal. - 1 tbsp
Coriander seeds. - 1tbsp
Dry Red chillies. - 6 or 8
Urad dal. - 1 tbsp
Coriander seeds. - 1tbsp
Instructions:-
1). Take a firm and matured Breadfruit and cut into halves.
2). Peel and chop the Bread fruit into medium size cubes and keep aside.
3). Wash Tur dal in water.Pressure cook Tur dal and chopped Breadfruit pieces along with 1cup of water for 2 whistles or till soft and well cooked.Keep aside.
4). Heat a pan on low flame and dry roast Urad dal, dry Red chillies and Coriander seeds till Urad dal changes its colour. Add Coconut gratings and roast until the Coconut gratings become golden brown colour. Remove from heat and allow the roasted ingredients to cool.Then add Turmeric powder and mix well.Grind all the roasted items together to a smooth paste. Keep aside the ground Coconut Masala paste.
Method:-
1). In a cooking vessel add the cooked Tur dal and cooked Breadfruit pieces along with Water and boil well.
2). Add required Salt and Dharambe sol (Kudampuli)) into the cooking vessel and mix well.Boil and cook for 2 minutes on low flame.
3). Add the ground Coconut Masala paste and stir well.The consistency of the gravy is semi thick. Add water to get the required consistency.Mix well and boil for few minutes and switch off the flame.
A tasty and delicious Landhe Gudhga Ghassi/ Breadfruit Masala gravy is ready to serve with rice.
