Landhe Gudhgya Salli Upkari-Konkani recipe[Breadfruit Skin Stir Fry.]

Breadfruit is called Landhe Gudhgo and its Skin is called Sali in Konkani.This delicious and tasty recipe is made with Breadfruit skin.

The following ingredients are needed to prepare this Breadfruit Skin stir fry

Ingredients:-

Bread fruit Skin.    - from a firm and matured medium size Breadfruit.
Red chilly powder. -1 tsp
Turmeric powder.   -1/4 tsp
Hing powder.          -1/2 tsp
Salt.                         - 1/2 tsp 


For Seasoning:-

Cooking oil.     -2 tsp
Mustard seeds. -1tsp
Coconut oil.     -1tsp[optional]


Instructions:-

1. Take a medium size,firm and matured Breadfruit.
 

2. Wash the Breadfruit and chop vertically into two halves.


3. Scrap the outer green thorny portions slightly with a scraper and chop the skin of the Breadfruit into little thicker vertical slices and keep aside.


4. Again chop the vertical thick slices into 1inch long pieces and keep them in Water for few minutes.


5. Then drain and transfer to a wide mixing vessel and add Turmeric powder.

  6. Add Red chilly powder,



7.Add Salt.


8. Add Hing powder.


9. Mix  well the chopped Breadfruit Skin pieces with Turmeric powder, Red chilly powder,Salt and Hing powder and keep it in the wide mixing vessel for 10 minutes to marinate.



Method:-


Heat Coconut oil or Cooking oil in a pan and splutter Mustard seeds and saute well .

Add the marinated Breadfruit Skin pieces and stir well. Sprinkle little Water. Cover and cook it till soft and well cooked. Stir in between and switch off the flame.(Breadfruit skin will cook fast).

A tasty and yummy Breadfruit Skin Stir fry is ready to serve as a side dish with Rice, Chapathi etc.
