Sweet Potato is called Chinnikanang in Kochi Konkani.Chinnikanga Dhaat Baluk is a Kochi GSB konkani style deep fried Sweet Potato Thick Chips, prepared and served as an evening snack along with hot Tea or coffee.
The following ingredients are needed to prepare Sweet Potato Thick Chips.
Ingredients.
Sweet Potato. -2
Red chilly powder. -1/4 tsp
Hing powder. -1/4 tsp
Salt. -1/4 tsp
Oil. -2 cup for deep frying
Instructions:-
Deskin the Sweet Potatoes and wash in water well.Pat dry the Sweet Potatoes with a clean cloth.
Chop the Sweet Potatoes lengthwise into 2 halves.Then chop each halves into semi circle shape quarter inch thick pieces. Add a pinch of Salt to this chopped pieces and mix well with hands and keep aside for 10 minutes.

Take a wide plate and add Red chilly powder, Hing powder and Salt.Mix all the above ingredients together with your hands and keep aside the spice powder mixture.
Method:-
Heat oil in a deep frying pan on medium heat.
When the oil is hot, put the chopped Sweet Potato Thick pieces into the hot oil and deep fry till golden brown.
When it become golden brown remove it from hot oil and transfer to a mixing bowl.
Immediately sprinkle the prepared spice powder mixture over the deep fried thick chips and mix well with a dry spoon.
A tasty and delicious Chinnikanga Dhaat Baluk is ready to serve as an evening snack with hot Tea or Coffee.
