Besan Bonda / Kadala Mavu Bonda.

Chickpea flour is called Besan flour / Kadala Maavu.Besan Bonda is a deep fried evening snack made with  Chickpea flour /Kadala Mavu..The following ingredients are needed to prepare Besan Bonda / Kadala Mavu Bonda.

Ingredients:-

Besan flour.     -1cup
Rice flour.        -2tbsp
Hing powder.   -1/4 tsp
Green chilly.    -1
Cooking soda. -1/4tsp
Salt.                 - a pinch
Water.              - 1/4 cup

Instructions:-

Chop Green chilli into very thin roundels and keep aside.

In a mixing bowl add Besan flour, Rice flour, Hing powder, Cooking Soda, a pinch of Salt and mix well.

Add thinly chopped Green chilly roundels and mix with the Besan mixture.

Add water little by little and mix well and adjust the mixture to make a thick and sticky dough without lumps.


Method:-

Heat oil in a deep frying pan on medium heat.

Take small balls of the dough and drop directly into the hot oil to make small bondas. Deep fry and cook on both sides.

Fry until it turns deep golden colour, turning once or twice in between on medium heat to cook all the sides.

When cooked on all sides remove from hot oil and transfer to a kitchen towel to absorb the excess oil.

Besan Bonda is ready to serve.

Serve Besan Bonda hot with pickle or Tomato Ketchup and hot Tea or Coffee as an evening snack.
