Home made Strawberry Blueberry Jam

Strawberry is a red, cone shaped (heart shaped) juicy fruit and is rich in Vitamim C.Blueberry is a berry fruit spherical in shape with a medium to dark blue colour and an excellent source of Vitamin C.Strawberry Blueberry Jam is a home made Jam without adding any preservatives.Home made jam always tastes fresher and better than store brought one.

The following ingredients are needed to prepare Strawberry Blueberry Jam.

Ingredients:-

Strawberry.      -15
Blueberry.        -1cup
Sugar.              -1/2 cup
Lemon Juice.    -1tsp
Salt.                  - a pinch (optional)

Instructions:-


1. Wash the Strawberries and Blueberries in water.

2. Chop 15 Strawberries into medium pieces and keep aside on a plate.

3.Chop 1cup Blueberries into halves. Keep aside few whole Blueberries seperately in a cup.Keep all the ingredients [chopped Strawberries, chopped Blueberries, few whole Blueberries, Sugar and half of a Lemon] on a plate.




Method:-



1).In a non stick pan or a wide bottom pan add the chopped Strawberry pieces and keep the pan on medium flame and cook the chopped Strawberry pieces.






2).Add the chopped Blueberry halves into the pan and stir well.





3).Add the whole Blueberries into the pan and stir well.Cook on medium heat.





4).After 1 minute the water content from Strawberries and Blueberries begins to appear.Boil for 5 minutes and stir occassionally.





5).After boiling for 5 minutes break the soften Strawberries and Blueberries using the tip of a spoon and cook for another 3 minutes.







6. Add 1/2 cup Sugar to the boiling  mixture.




7).Stir in Sugar with the Strawberry and Blueberry mixture.





8).Add a pinch of Salt and mix with the Sugar to enhance the taste.But it is optional to do.





9).The mixture will again turn  into watery consistency.Now keep on stirring the mixture for 3 minutes and make sure to evaporate the water content for longer shelf life.





10).Add in Lemon Juice now and stir well.The mixture will begin to form Jam like consistency.





11).Check for Jam consistency.When a line drawn from the spoon does not meet together

12). Once the Jam consistency is reached ,switch of the flame.






13).Allow the Jam to cool in room temperature.Home made fresh Strawberry Blueberry Jam is ready to use. Store the Jam in a clean,dry and air tight glass bottle.Always use clean and dry spoon to scoop out the Jam from the glass bottle for better shelf life.





14)Try the recipe and enjoy the taste of fresh home made Jam.
