The following ingredients are needed to prepare Thumbya Humman / Thumba Leaves Instant Pickle.
Ingredients:-
Thumba leaves. -1cup
Tamarind. - a gooseberry size.
Red chilly powder. -1tsp
Hing powder. -1/2tsp
Salt. - to taste
Urad dal. -1tsp
Mustard seeds. -1tsp
Methi seeds. -10 seeds.
Coconut oil. -2tsp
Instructions:-
I). Take a bunch of fresh Thumba plant.
2). Seperate the Thumba leaves from its branches and wash the leaves 2 /3 times in Water.
3). Finely chop the Thumba leaves and keep aside.
4). Soak Tamarind in 1/4cup of water and extract Tamarind juice and keep aside.
Method:--
1). Heat Coconut oil in a pan on low flame and add Urad dal, splutter Mustard seeds and Methi seeds.Saute well.Add Red chilly powder and mix well.
2). Add the finely chopped Thumba leaves and saute well.
3). Add the extracted Tamarind juice and mix well with the Thumba leaves.
4). Add 1/4 cup of water. Boil well and cook on low flame till the leaves are cooked.Saute in between.
5). Add Hing powder and required Salt and mix with the cooked Thumba leaves.
6). Mix all the ingredients in the pan and boil for a minute and switch off the flame.
A tasty Thumbya Humman / Thumba Leaves Instant Pickle is ready to serve as a side dish with Rice, Idli or Dosa.
