GUR PAPDI / SUKHDI / GOL PAPDI


Gur Papdi / Gol Papdi also known as Sukhadi is a sweet dish made with Wheat flour, Rava [Semolina], Jaggery, Cardamom powder and Ghee. Gur Papdi / Gol Papdi /Sukhdi is usually made during winters and also on auspicious days and festivals.A very easy to make tasty sweet dish.

The following ingredients are needed to prepare Gur Papdi / Gol Papdi / Sukhdi.

Ingredients:-

Wheat flour.        -1/2 cup
Rava (Semolina). -1tbsp
Jaggery grated.     -1/4 cup
Cardamom pods.   - 4
Ghee.                      -1/4 cup

Instructions:-

1). Grease a plate with little Ghee and keep aside.

2). Peel the Cardamom and crush it to make Cardamom powder and keep aside.

Method:-

1). Heat Ghee in a kadai on medium flame.When the Ghee melts add Wheat flour and roast well till it changes to golden brown in colour and nice aroma comes.Stir the Wheat flour at regular intervals. Add 1tbsp Rava (Semolina) and stir well for a minute.

2). Lower the flame and add grated Jaggery and crushed Cardamom powder.Mix the grated Jaggery on low flame till it melts and mixes with the Wheat flour + Rava + Ghee mixture.

3). When the Wheat flour and Jaggery mixes well switch off the flame.Transfer the mixture to a greased plate.Spread the mixture evenly on the plate and level it by pressing with the back of a spatula.

4). Immediately cut the mixture to a desired shape and size.

5). A very tasty and sweet dish Gur Papdi/ Gol Papdi/ Sukhdi is ready to be served.
