Sprouted Green gram Fenugreek Dal Curry is a coconut based very tasty, healthy and delicious masala curry prepared adding masoor dal, sprouted green gram and sprouted fenugreek [methi seeds] and goes well as a side dish with rice.
Ingredients:-
Sprouted Green gram. -1 and 1/2 cup
Sprouted Fenugreek seeds. -1/2 cup
Masoor dal. - 1/2 cup
Grated Coconut. -1 cup
Dry Red chilly. - 5
Turmeric powder. -1/4 tsp
Star fruit. -2
Ingredients:-
Sprouted Green gram. -1 and 1/2 cup
Sprouted Fenugreek seeds. -1/2 cup
Masoor dal. - 1/2 cup
Grated Coconut. -1 cup
Dry Red chilly. - 5
Turmeric powder. -1/4 tsp
Star fruit. -2
Salt. - to taste
For Seasoning:-
Coconut oil. -1tbsp
Urad dal. -1tsp
Mustard seeds. -1/2tsp
Curry leaves. -1spring
Instructions:-
1. Wash and pressure cook Masoor dal adding 3/4 cup of water for 1whistle on medium flame and keep aside.
2. Wash and chop Star fruits into small round pieces and keep aside.
3. Wash the sprouted Green gram and sprouted Fenugreek seeds in water. Drain the water from it completely and keep aside.
4. Grind the grated Coconut along with dry Red chillies and Turmeric powder to a coarse paste without adding water and keep aside.
Method :-
1. Heat Coconut oil in a pan and add Urad dal and saute well.Splutter Mustard seeds and saute well.Add Curry leaves and fry well for a second.
2. Add the sprouted Green gram and sprouted Fenugreek seeds along with required Salt and mix well.
3. Cover the pan with a lid and cook on low flame without adding water.
4. Once it is cooked add the chopped Star fruits and saute well.Cook for 2 minutes on low flame.
5. Add the cooked Masoor dal and saute well.
6. Add the ground Coconut Masala paste into the pan and mix well. Cover and cook for 2 minutes on low flame till the water evaporates. Stir in between.
