Corn Flakes Onion Uthappam / Cornflakes Uttapam



Corn Flakes Onion Uthappam / Cornflakes Uttapam is a very tasty breakfast dish made with cornflakes adding rce flour, fine rava [semolina], curd, finely chopped onion, green chillies, curry leaves, crushed ginger, black pepper and cumin seeds.

The following ingredients are needed to prepare Corn Flakes Onion Uthappam /Cornflakes Uttapam.

Ingredients:-

Cornflakes.          - 1/2cup
Rice flour.            - 1/4 cup
Semolina (Rava). - 1/4 cup
Curd.                    - 1 cup
Onion.                  -1 medium size
Green chillies.      -2
Ginger.                  - a very small piece
Curry leaves.         -2 spring
Cumin seeds.         -1tsp
Black Pepper.         -1/2tsp
Salt.                        -to taste
Water.                     -1 and1/2 cup + 1/4 cup
Oil.                         - for making dosa.

Instructions:-


1. Keep aside 1/2 cup Corn flakes, 1/4 cup Rice Flour, 1/4 cup Rava [Semolina] and 1/2 cup of Curd.

2. Keep aside finely chopped Onion, Green chillies, Ginger, Curry leaves and Cumin seeds. Keep aside crushed Black Pepper.

3. Add the Cornflakes in a mixer grinder and grind to a fine flour.

4. In a mixing bowl add the ground Cornflakes, Rice flour and Semolina (fine Rava).

5. Add 1cup of water in the mixing bowl and mix all the flour together without lumps and keep aside to soak for 20 minutes.

6. After 20 minutes the Semolina absorbs water and become thick. Add Curd,required Salt and crushed Black Pepper into the mixing bowl and mix well.

7. Add finely chopped Onion, Green chillies, Curry leaves, Cumin seeds, crushed Ginger and crushed Black pepper and mix well. 

8. Add 1/2 cup of water and mix the batter well.


9. Make the batter to a pouring consistency and keep aside.

Method:-

1. Heat a dosa tawa on medium heat and grease with little Oil or Ghee.

2. Mix the batter well and take a laddle of batter.


3. Pour the batter on the hot tawa in a circular motion starting from the edges of the dosa tawa and move towards the center till the batter covers the center and make thin dosa.Small holes will appear on dosa here and there.

4. Pour little oil on the sides and over the Uttapam and cook on medium flame till crisp.

5. When one side is cooked well. Flip the Uttapam to cook the other side.

6. When both sides are cooked well remove the Uttapam from hot tawa and transfer to a serving late. A very tasty Corn Flakes Onion Uthappam /Cornflakes Uttapam is ready to serve.

7. Make Uttapam with the remaining batter.You can make thick Uttapam with this batter by pouring a ladle full of batter on the centre of the hot dosa tawa and gently spread it to make thick Uttapam.When one side is roasted well turn it to roast the other side.When both sides are  roasted remove the Uttapam from hot tawa and transfer to a serving plate.A tasty Corn Flakes Onion Uthappam /Cornflakes Uttapam is ready to serve with chutney.

CORN FLAKES ONION UTHAPPAM /CORNFLAKES UTTAPAM RECIPE -STEP BY STEP METHOD WITH FEW PHOTOS.

Instructions:-

1. Keep aside 1/2 cup Cornflakes,1/4 cup Rice Flour, 1/4 cup Rava [semolina] and 1/2 cup of Curd.
