A very tasty Masala Rice made adding peanut and spice powders. Very simple and easy to prepare recipe.
The following ingredients are needed to prepare Masala Rice.
Ingredients:-
Cooked Rice. -1cup
Peanuts. - 2tbsp + 2tsp
Dry Red chillies. - 2
Urad dal. -1tsp
Chana dal. -1tsp
Cumin seeds. -1tsp + 1/2tsp
Hing powder. -1/4tsp
Turmeric Powder. - a pinch
Desicated Coconut. - 4tbsp
Curry leaves. -1spring
Oil. - 2tsp + 1tbsp
Salt. - to taste
Instructions:-
Cook Rice and keep aside.
Heat 2 tsp oil in a pan add roast 2tbsp Peanuts till crunchy and keep aside on a plate.
In the same pan roast 2 dry Red chillies till crisp, but do not burn. Keep aside.
In the same pan add Urad dal, Chana dal and 1tsp Cumin seeds. Roast well till dal change its colour. Add desicated coconut and fry for a minute. Add Hing powder and mix well. Transfer the roasted ingredients to a plate. Add a pinch of Turmeric powder and mix well. Allow all the roasted ingredients to cool.
Grind the roasted ingredients together to a smooth powder along with 1/2tsp Salt without adding water and keep aside the ground Masala powder.
Method:-
Heat oil in a pan on medium flame and add 1tbsp Peanuts and fry well till crunchy.
Add 1/2tsp Cumin seeds and 1spring Curry leaves and saute well.
Add cooked Rice and saute well.
Add ground Masala Powder and mix well. Stir well for 2 minutes on low flame till the ground masala powder completely coats with the cooked Rice.Switch off the flame.
Transfer the Masala Rice to a serving bowl or to a serving plate.
