Beans Sukke / Konkani Recipe.


Beans Sukke is a Konkani style coconut based french beans dry masala curry made with tender 
French Beans.

The following ingredients are needed to prepare Beans Sukke / French Beans Masala Curry..

Ingredients:-

French Beans.        -30 or 40
Kudam Puli.           - a small piece [Kerala tamarind]
Salt.                        -to taste
Grated Coconut.     -1cup
Red chilly powder. -1 tsp
Turmeric powder.   -1/4tsp
Urad dal.                 -1tsp
Mustard Seed s.      -1/2tsp
Fenugreek seeds.    -10 seeds only
Coconut oil.            -1tsp

Instructions:-

1. Wash the French beans, trim both the ends and remove the fibre on both side. Chop the Beans into very thin pieces and keep aside.

2. In a wide bowl add the grated Coconut, dry Red chillies and Turmeric powder. Mix all the above ingredients together using your hands. Keep aside the Coconut masala mixture.

Method:-

1. Heat Coconut oil in a pan and add Urad dal and saute well. Splutter Mustard seeds and Fenugreek seeds and saute well.

2. Add the thinly chopped French beans pieces and mix well. Cover and cook on low flame till the beans is 3/4 cooked.

3. Add required Salt and Kudam Puli pieces and mix well. Cover and cook for 2 minutes on low flame.

4. Add the grated Coconut masala mixture into the pan and mix well with the cooked French beans. Saute well.

5. Cover and cook again for 2 minutes on low flame and switch off the flame.

A tasty Beans Sukke / French Beans Masala Curry is ready to serve as a side dish with rice and dal curry.
