The following ingredients are needed to prepare delicious Gabbya Upkari / Banana Stem Stir Fry.
Ingredients:-
Banana stem. -1 small piece tender)
Potato. -2 medium size
Mustard seeds. -1tsp
Dry Red chillies. -2
Coconut grated. -1/2 cup
Cooking oil. - 2 tsp
Instructions:-
1.Peel the outer skin and wash the Potatoes.

Ingredients:-
Banana stem. -1 small piece tender)
Potato. -2 medium size
Mustard seeds. -1tsp
Dry Red chillies. -2
Coconut grated. -1/2 cup
Cooking oil. - 2 tsp
Instructions:-
1.Peel the outer skin and wash the Potatoes.
2. Clean and wash a small piece of Gabbo / Banana stem.
3. Chop the Potatoes and Banana stem into thin roundels with a sharp kitchen knife.
Remove and discard the net like fibre between each Banana stem roundels by rolling them around your finger when you chop it. Keep the sliced Banana stem and Potato roundels in water to prevent the colour change.
4. Drain the water and chop the Banana stem roundels together into very small pieces and keep aside. Chop the Potato roundels into very small pieces and keep aside.
5. Broke dry Red chillies into halves and keep aside.
Method:-
1. Heat oil in a pan and splutter Mustard seeds and saute well.
2. Add broken dry Red chillies and fry for a second.
3. Add the chopped Potato pieces and 1/4 cup of water. Cover and cook on low flame till the Potato pieces become soft.
4. Add the chopped Banana stem pieces and saute well.Cover the pan with a lid and cook the chopped Banana stem pieces on low flame for 2 minutes or till the Banana stem pieces become soft.Stir in between.
