Moong dal Potato Humman / Moong dal with Potatoes Curry / Konkani Recipe.


Moong dal Potato Humman is a Konkani style split yellow Moong dal and Potato Curry.A very tasty and delicious Potato Moong dal recipe goes well as a side dish with rice, puttu , idiyappam etc.

The following ingredients are needed to prepare Moong dal Potato Humman /Moong dal with Potatoes Curry.

Ingredients:-

Moong dal.           - 1cup
Potatoes.              - 2
Turmeric powder.  -1/4 tsp
Salt.                      - to taste
Mustard seeds.     -1tsp
Dry Red chillies.    - 2
Curry leaves.         -1spring

Coconut oil.           -1tsp
Tomato.                 -1 medium size [optional]

Instructions:-

1. Peel wash and chop Potatoes into small pieces and keep aside.

2. Wash and pressure cook Moong dal and chopped Potatoes adding Turmeric powder and 2 cup of water for 3 whistles and keep aside.

3. Broke dry Red chillies into small bits and keep aside.

Method:-

1. Heat 1tsp oil in a pan and splutter Mustard seeds and saute well.

2. Add broken dry Red chillies and Curry leaves and fry for a second

3. Add the cooked Moong dal and Potatoes into the pan and mix well.

4. Add required Salt and mix well.

5. Add little water and boil and cook for 2 minutes on low flame and switch off the flame.

6.Transfer the Moong dal with Potato Curry to a serving bowl

A tasty Moong dal Potato Humman Moong dal with Potatoes Curry is ready to serve with rice, puttu, idiappam etc.


Note - You can add finely chopped 1 medium size Tomato in this recipe along with Salt [optional].
