Sambaram / Thakka Sambar is a GSB Konkani style spiced buttermilk flavoured with lemon juice, ginger, green chilly, curry leaves and coriander leaves. The following ingredients are needed to prepare Sambaram / Spicy Buttermilk / Thakka Sambar.
Ingredients:-
Curd. -1/2 litre ( little sour)
Lemon. -1
Green chillies. -2
Ginger. - 1 inch piece
Curry leaves. -3 spring
Coriander leaves. - few for garnishing [optional]
Salt. - to taste
Instructions:-
1. Wash and chop Green chillies into two halves.Peel and chop Ginger into small pieces, Wash the Curry leaves.

Instructions:-
1. Wash and chop Green chillies into two halves.Peel and chop Ginger into small pieces, Wash the Curry leaves.
2. Grind chopped Ginger, Green chillies and Curry leaves to a fine paste. Keep aside the ground Green chilly Ginger Paste.
3. Wash and finely chop few Coriander leaves and keep aside.[optional]
Method:-
1. In a vessel add [little sour] Curd.
2. Add required water and whisk the Curd well and make a thin Buttermilk.
3. Squeeze one lemon into the Buttermilk in the vessel and mix well.Add required Salt and mix well.
4. Add the ground Green chilly Ginger Paste into the Buttermilk in the vessel.
5. Mix the Buttermilk with the ground green chilly ginger Paste and add little Salt if needed and mix well.
6. Adjust the consistency of the spiced buttermilk by adding little more water and mix well.
7. Add finely chopped few Coriander leaves into the Spiced Buttermilk /Sambaram in the vessel. [optional]
8. Transfer the Sambaram /Spiced Buttermilk to a serving bowl or in a glass and enjoy the refreshing and healthy drink.
A very tasty and refreshing Sambaram /Spiced Buttermilk/ Takka Sambar is ready to serve as a drink and can be served with rice.
