Thakka Polo is a Konkani style breakfast dish made with Idli Rice, thin Poha (Flattened Rice) and Cud and can be served with chutney.A very easy to make recipe and step by step method with photos are given below.
The following ingredients are needed to prepare Thakka Polo / Curd Dosa.
Ingredients:-
Idli Rice. - 2 cup
Thin Poha. -1 cup
Curd. -1cup (little sour)
Salt. - to taste.
Instructions:-
1. Wash the Idli Rice and soak in water for 8 hours or overnight and keep aside.
2. Wash Poha and soak in little water for 2 minutes just before grinding.
3. Whisk the Curd and keep aside.
Method:-
1. Drain the soaked water and grind the Idli Rice little by little along with soaked Poha to a smooth and thick paste adding very little water.Add the whisked Curd and grind the rice batter again along with Curd to a very smooth paste.

2. Transfer the ground batter to a vessel and add required Salt and mix well. Keep aside the batter to ferment for 10 to 12 hours.Mix the fermented batter adding little water and keep aside.
3. Heat a dosa tawa on medium flame and grease with little oil.Mix the batter with a ladle and take a ladle of batter and spread it on the hot tawa and make dosa. Small holes will appear on the surface of the dosa.
4. Apply little oil on the sides of the dosa using a oil brush.
5. Cover and cook on low fame till the base of the dosa is roasted well.
6. Remove the cooked Curd dosa from tawa with a flat spatula and transfer to a serving plate and serve hot with chutney.
7. Make similar dosas with the remaining batter.Left over batter can be refrigerated for further use.
A tasty Thakka Polo / Curd Dosa is ready to serve with Chutney.
