Mashinga Dentya Upkari / Drumstick Stir Fry adding Rice Flour


Mashinga Dentya Upkari is a Konkani style chopped Drumstick stir fry adding rice flour goes well as a side dish with steamed rice. A delicious Drumstick stir fry recipe is explained with step by step method and photos.

The following ingredients are needed to prepare Mashinga Dentya Upkari  / Drumstick Stir Fry adding Rice Flour.

Ingredients:-

Drumstick.            - 6
Dry Red chillies.   -1 tsp
Turmeric powder. -1/4 tsp
Hing powder.        -1/2 tsp
Rice flour.             - 2 tbsp
Urad dal.               -1 tsp
Mustard seeds.     -1 tsp
Coconut oil.           -2 tsp
Salt.                       - to taste

Instructions:-

1). Chop both the ends of the Drumstick  and remove the outer skin. Wash and chop  the Drumstick into 1 and 1/2 inch lengthy pieces. Keep aside the chopped Drumstick Pieces (Mashinga Dente).

Method:-

1). Heat Coconut oil in a pan and add Urad dal and saute well on low flame.Splutter Mustard seeds and saute well.


2). Add Red chilly powder, Turmeric powder and Hing powder into the pan and mix well.

3). Add the chopped Drumstick pieces (Mashinga dente) into the pan and mix with the spice powders on low flame.


4) Add 1 and 1/2 cup of water and required Salt into the pan and mix well.


5). Cover and cook the Drumstick pieces on low flame till soft.

6). Open the lid and saute well. Sprinkle Rice flour little by little into the pan and mix with the cooked Drumstick pieces on very low flame.


7). Sprinkle little water into the pan (if needed) and mix well on low flame till the Drumstick pieces nicely coated with the Rice flour and cook till the curry becomes dry. Switch off the flame.

8). Transfer the Drumstick stir fry to a serving plate.

A very tasty Mashinga Dentya Upkari / Drumstick Stir Fry adding Rice Flour is ready to serve as a side dish with steamed rice.
