Ambo Piyava Karambi


Ambo Piyava Karambi is a delicious Green Mango Salad made with grated raw mangoes, adding shallots, green chillies, hing powder and coconut oil, goes well as a side dish with steamed rice.Mango is called Ambo and Shallot is called Piyavu in Konkani.

The following ingredients are needed to prepare Ambo Piyava Karambi /Green Mango Salad.

Ingredients:-

Raw Mango.   -2
Shallots.          -2
Green chillies. -2
Hing powder.   -1/2 tsp
Salt.                  - to taste
Coconut oil.      -1tbsp

Instructions:-

1). Wash raw mangoes and remove the outer skin. Then grate the raw mangoes using a grater and keep aside.

2). Peel shallots, wash well and chop into very thin lengthy pieces and keep aside.

3). Wash green chillies and chop into thin roundels and keep aside.

Method:-

1). In a mixing bowl add the chopped green chilly roundels, chopped shallots, required salt and hing powder. Mash all the ingredients in the bowl thoroughly using hands.

2). Add grated raw mangoes into the mixing bowl and gently mix with all the ingredients using a spoon.

3). Pour 1tbsp coconut oil over the raw mango shallot mixture and mix well with a spoon.

4). Transfer the Ambo Piyava Karambi /Green Mango Salad to a serving bowl.

A delicious Ambo Piyava Karambi / Green Mango Salad is ready to serve as a side dish with steamed rice.
