Crunchy Sprouted Black Chana

Crunchy sprouted black chana is a deep fried tea time snack made with black chickpeas also known as black chana or kala chana.

The following ingredients are needed to prepare Crunchy Sprouted Black Chana.

Ingredients:-

Black chickpeas. -1 cup (black chana)
Salt.                     -1tsp
Water.                  -1/4 cup
Oil.                      - for deep frying

Instructions:-

1). Wash and soak black chickpeas in sufficient water overnight. In the morning drain the soaked water and keep the soaked black chickpeas in a clean cloth. Tie the cloth with a thread and keep aside for one or two days to sprout the chickpeas.

2). In a small bowl add 1tsp salt and 1/4 cup of water and mix well till the salt dissolves in water.Keep aside the salt solution.

Method:-

1). Heat oil in a deep frying kadai on high flame. Once the oil is hot add the sprouted black chickpeas in oil and deep fry on medium flame.Deep fry the sprouted chickpeas in batches.

2). Add 1/2 tsp salt solution in hot oil and fry the chickpeas till crispy and crunchy.

3). Remove the deep fried sprouted black chickpeas from hot oil using a slotted spoon and transfer to a tissue paper to absorb the excess oil.

Serve the crunchy sprouted black chana with a cup of hot tea.
