Super Soft Rice Idlis
Rice Idli is a soft and fluffy idli made with idli rice, urad dal and thick poha. Soft rice idlis can be served with coconut chutney and hot sambar for breakfast.
The following ingredients are needed to prepare Super Soft Rice Idlis.
Ingredients:-
Idli Rice. - 2 cup
Urad dal. -1 cup
Thick Poha. -1 cup
Salt. -1tsp
Instructions:-
1). Wash and soak urad dal and poha in water seperately for 4 hours.Then drain water completely and grind soaked urad dal along with soaked poha to a smooth and thick batter adding little ice water.Transfer the ground batter to a big vessel.
2). Wash and soak idli rice in water for 4 hours. Then drain water and grind the soaked idli rice to a little coarse batter adding very little water. Transfer the ground rice batter to the same big vessel.
3). Mix together both ground batters in the vessel and keep aside to ferment for 8 to 10 hours.
Method:-
1). Add 1tsp salt to the fermented batter and mix the batter slowly with a ladle.
2). Grease idli moulds with little oil and pour a ladle of fermented idli batter on idli moulds.
3). Boil required water in a steamer and place the idli moulds in the steamer. Close the steamer with lid and steam cook the idlis for 12 minutes on medium flame. Then switch off the flame.
4). Take out the idli moulds from steamer and allow the idlis to cool. Remove the cooled idlis from idli moulds using the edge of a spoon and transfer to a plate.
Super Soft Rice Idlis are ready to serve with coconut chutney and hot sambar.
