Sweet Banana Idli is a healthy snack made with homegrown ripe robusta bananas, semolina, coconut, jaggery and curd.
The following ingredients are needed to prepare Sweet Banana Idli / Ripe Robusta Banana Idli.
Ingredients:-
Ripe robusta banana. -2
Semolina/ rava. -1 cup
Grated coconut. -1/4 cup
Jaggery grated. -1/4 cup
Cardamom powder. -1/2 tsp
Curd. -3 tsp
Salt. -to taste
Ghee. -1/2 tsp
Boiled and cooled Milk.- as required to adjust the consistency of the idli batter.
Instructions:-
Peel
and chop ripe robusta bananas. In a mixer blend together chopped ripe robusta bananas,
grated jaggery, cardamom powder and a pinch of salt. Keep aside the
banana jaggery mixture.
Method:-
1). In a mixing bowl add
semolina. Add banana jaggery mixture, grated coconut and curd into the
bowl and mix well and make a batter of idli batter consistency. If the
batter is too thick add little boiled and cooled milk to adjust the
consistency.Keep aside the banana batter for 10 minutes to rest.
2). Grease the idli moulds with little ghee. Pour the sweet idli batter in each greased idli moulds.
3). Boil sufficient water in a idli steamer. Place the idli moulds in the steamer and steam cook the banana idlis for 15 minutes and switch off the flame. Once cooled de-mould the sweet banana idlis and transfer to a plate.
Sweet Banana Idlis / Robusta Banana Idlis are ready to serve.
