SOFT & SPONGY DOSA WITH GREEN PEAS MASALA CURRY.


SOFT & SPONGY DOSA :-

The following ingredients are needed to prepare Soft & Spongy Dosa.

Ingredients:-


Whole white Urad dal.               -3/4 cup

Methi seeds/Fenugreek seeds. -1/2tsp
Dosa Rice /Raw Rice.                -3 cup
Poha/Thick Flattened Rice.        -1cup or Cooked Rice. -1 cup

Salt.                                            - to taste    
Oil/Ghee.                                    - for roasting the Dosa

Instructions:-


Wash and soak 3 cup Dosa Rice/ Raw Rice in water for 5 hours.

Wash and soak 3/4 cup whole white Urad dal in water along with 1/2 tsp Methi seeds for 5 hours.

Wash and soak 1cup thick Poha /Flattened Rice in water for 5 hours seperately.

First grind the soaked Urad dal along with soaked Methi seeds adding very little cool water to a smooth and thick batter and transfer the ground batter to a container.

Then grind the soaked Rice along with soaked Poha [or Cooked Rice] to a smooth batter adding very little water and transfer the ground batter to the same container.Do not make the batter very thin.


Mix together the ground Urad dal batter and Rice Poha batter in the container using your hands for 2 minutes.

Keep aside the batter to ferment for 8 to 12 hours.Then add required Salt into the fermented batter and mix well.

Method:-

Heat a non-stick dosa tawa on medium flame.

Mix the fermented batter with a laddle and take a laddle full of batter.


Pour the batter on the tawa and gently spread it on the tawa and make small and thick dosa. Do not spread the batter too much.

Apply little oil on the sides and cook open for 2 minutes.Then close the tawa with a lid and cook for 1 minute.

Then open the lid and remove the cooked dosa from hot tawa with a flat spatula. Do not flip the dosa to cook the other side.

Transfer the dosa with a flat spatula to a serving plate and serve the Soft & Spongy Dosa with Green Peas Masala Curry.


GREEN PEAS MASALA CURRY  RECIPE:-

The following ingredients are needed to prepare Green Peas Masala Curry.

Ingredients:-


Dry Green peas. -1 cup
Potato.                -2 medium size
Salt.                    -to taste


For Seasoning:-


Oil.                                -3 tsp
Onion.                           -1big
Green chilly.                  -3
Ginger.                          -1/2 inch piece
Garlic.                           -3
Curry leaves.                -1spring
Coriander powder.        -1tsp
Red chilly powder.        -1tsp
Turmeric powder.          -1/4 tsp

Garam Masala powder.-1tsp
Ghee.                            -1tsp

Instructions:-

Wash and soak dry Green peas in water for 6 hours and keep aside.

Peel the outer skin of  the Potatoes.Wash well and chop the Potatoes into small cubes.Keep aside.

Pressure cook the soaked Green peas and the chopped Potatoes adding Salt and required water for 4 whistles.Keep aside.


Peel, wash and finely chop one big Onion and keep aside.

Wash and half slit Green chillies lengthwise and keep aside.

Peel, wash and finely chop Ginger and Garlic and keep aside.

Wash and chop one Tomato into small pieces and keep aside.

Method:-

Heat 3 tsp Oil in a pan  and add finely chopped Onion, half slit Green chillies, chopped Ginger, finely chopped Garlic and add Curry leaves.Saute well till the Onion pieces become translucent.

Lower the flame and add Coriander powder, Red chilly powder and Turmeric powder and saute well.

Add finely chopped Tomato and saute well till the Tomato pieces become soft and mushy.

Add the cooked Green Peas and cooked Potato cubes with little water and boil for 5 minutes on low flame.

Cover the pan with a lid and cook for 2 minutes.The consistency of the gravy should be little thicker.

Mix well the thick gravy and add 1tsp Garam Masala powder and stir well.

Pour 1tsp Ghee over the gravy and switch off the flame.

A  very tasty and delicious Green Peas Masala Curry is ready to serve with Soft & Spongy Dosa. Green peas Masala  Curry can also be  served with Roti, Chapathi, Paratha, Naan etc.
