Palak,Potato,Tomato & Onion gravy is one of the delicious Palak leaves recipe.Palak leaves are good for health and are rich in Iron, Calcium and Vitamins.There are many versions of this recipe.We can make simple, and easy to make gravy with Palak leaves which goes well with plain Rice, Chapathi, Parotta, Naan etcas a d elicious side dish.
The following ingredients are needed to prepare this delicious recipe.
Ingredients:-
Palak leaves. -1 large bunch
Tomato. -3 medium size
Green chilly. -3
Garlic. -3
Onion. -1
Ginger. - a small piece
Potato. - 2 medium size
Mustard seeds. -1tsp
Cumin seeds. -1/2 tsp
Sallt -to taste
Instruction:-
Peel and finely chop Onion and keep aside.
Peel the skin, wash and chop a small Ginger piece and keep aside.
Peel, wash and chop Potato into medium square cubes and pressure cook till soft and keep aside.
Clean,wash the Palak leaves in Water and drain and keep them on a plate.
Wash Tomatoes and Green chillies and keep them on the same plate.
Keep the plate with Palak leaves,Tomatoes and Green chillies in a steamer and steam cook all the three ingredients together for 5 minutes till soft.Remove the plate from the steamer and allow them to cool.
When cooled grind the steamed Palak leaves,Tomatoes and Green chillies along with 3 Garlic cloves and make a smooth puree and keep aside.
Method:-
Heat Oil in a pan and splutter Mustard seeds and Cumin seeds and saute well.
Add the chopped Ginger piece and saute well.
Add finely chopped Onion and saute well till the Onion become translucent.
Add the Palak,Tomato Green chilly and Garlic Puree and stir well.
Mix well and boil the Puree for few minutes.
The consistency of the gravy should be semi thick. You can adjust the consistency by adding Water.
Add 1tsp Garam Masala powder and stir well.
Add the chopped and boiled Potatoes square cubes and mix well with the Puree and boil the gravy for 1minute and then switch off the flame.
Paalak, Potato, Tomato and Onion gravy is ready to serve with Chapathi, Paratha, Naan and can also serve as a side dish with plain Rice.
