Attano in Konkani means Green peas.Humman means watery side dish.Green peas Tomato Curry is a tasty side dish served with Rice.It is made with Green peas and Tomato seasoned in Coconut oil .
The following ingredients are needed to prepare this Green peas Tomato Curry.
Ingredients:-
Green Peas. - 1 cup
Water. -1 cup
For Seasoning:-
Coconut oil -2tsp
Mustard seeds. -1tsp
Green chilly. -1
Curry leaves. -1 spring
Onion. -1 medium size
Tomato. -1 medium size
Red chilly powder. -1/2tsp
Hing.powder. -1tsp
Salt. -to taste
Instructions :-
Wash and soak Green peas in Water for 8 hours.Pressure cook the soaked Green peas adding 1cup Water for 1 whistle or till soft. Keep aside.
Chop Onion in lengthy slices.Keep aside.
Chop Tomatoes into small square pieces.Keep aside.
Half slit Green chillies lengthwise and keep aside.
Method :-
Heat Coconut Oil in a pan and splutter Mustard seeds.
Add Green chillies and Curry leaves and saute well till the Green chillies fry a little well in oil.
Add chopped Onion and saute well till the Onion becomes translucent.
Add Salt and mix well with the Onion pieces.
Add Red chilly powder and saute on low flame.
Add chopped Tomatoes and saute well and mix well with the Onion.Saute well till the Tomato pieces become soft and mushy.
Transfer the cooked Green peas along with cooked Water from the Cooker to the vessel and boil for 5 minutes.
Add Hing powder and mix everything well.Boil for 1 minute and switch off the flame.
A yummy Green peas Tomato Curry is ready to serve with Rice, Roti, Chapathi, Phulka or Idiyappam.
