Mugu( Green gram ) Humman

Green ram is called Mugu in Konkani.Greengram (Mugu) is rich in Protein.Mugu ( Green gram)Humman is a very tasty and healthy Konkani style side dish goes well with Rice, Puttu, Idiyappam etc.

The following ingredients are needed to prepare Muga Humman /Green gram Humman

Ingredients:-


Green gram.      -1cup
Salt.                   - to tasteD

Dry Red chillies. -2
Curry leaves.     -1 spring
Cooking oil.        -2 tsp


Instructions:-


Wash and soak Greengram [Mugu] in water for 6 hours or overnight and pressure cook the soaked Green gram with 3 cup of water for 4 whistles or till cooked soft and keep aside.

Broke dry Red chillies into two halves and keep aside.


Method:-

Heat oil in a pan and splutter Mustard seeds and saute well.

Add broken dry Red chilly pieces and fry well.

Add Curry leaves and fry for a second.

Add the pressure cooked Green gram along with Water and boil for a minute.

Add required Salt and mix well. Boil and cook on low flame for 2 minutes and switch of the flame.


[The consistency of the gravy is semi thick. You can increase or decrease the consistency by adding water according to your preference.]

A tasty and healthy Mugu (Green gram) Humman is ready to serve as a side dish with Rice, Puttu, Idiyappam etc.
