Green gram is called Mugu in Konkani.Muga Thoy is a healthy and protein rich liquid type gravy served as a side dish with Rice.The recipe is simple and easy to prepare with few ingredients and goes well with Rice.
The following ingredients are needed to prepare this delicious Muga Thoy.
Ingredients;-
Green gram . -1 cup
Oil. -2tsp
Mustard seeds. -1tsp
Garlic. -5
Green chilly. -3
Curry leaves. -1 spring
Salt. -to taste

Green gram . -1 cup

Instructions:-
Wash and soak 1cup Green gram for 6 hours or overnight.
Pressure cook the soaked Green gram adding little Salt and 1cup Water for 4 whistles.Keep aside.
Half slit Green Chillies lengthwise.Keep aside.
Slightly crush Garlic with or without skin and keep aside.
Method:-
Heat Oil in a pan and splutter Mustard seeds.
Add Crushed Garlic and saute well till the garlic slightly change the colour.
Add Green chillies and saute for a second.
Add Curry leaves and saute well.
Add the cooked Mugu/Green gram with Water and mix well.
Check Salt and add little Salt if required and mix well.
Cover the pan with a lid and cook for 5 minutes.
Then switch off the flame.
A tasty and yummy Muga Thoy adding Green chilly and Garlic is ready to serve with hot steaming Rice.
