TENDLI & JEEVE CHAWLI UPKARI [ Konkani recipe] Ivy gourd and green long Yard beans Stir Fry

Ivy gourd is called Tendli and green  Long Yard beans is called Jeeve Chawli in Konkani.

The following ingredients are needed to prepare this delicious recipe of Tendli & Jeeve Chawli Upkari.

Ingredients:-

Ivy gourd (Tendli).             -10 tender
Long Yard beans ( Chawli).- 5 tender.
Green chilly.                        -3
Mustard seeds.                   - 1tsp
Salt.                                    -to taste
Coconut oil.                        -2tsp

Instructions:-

Wash and trim both the ends of the Ivy gourds (Tendlis) and chop into thin lengthy slices and keep aside.

Wash and chop green long Yard  beans (Chawli) into 3/4 inch lengthy pieces and keep aside.

Wash and half slit Green Chillies lengthwise and keep aside.

Method:-

Heat Coconut oil in a pan and splutter Mustard seeds and saute well.

Add half slit Green chillies and saute well and fry in oil for a second.

Add chopped long yard beans  into the pan and saute well.

Add the chopped Ivy gourd slices  into the pan and saute well.

Add required Salt into the pan and mix well with the Ivy gourd slices and Long yard beans pieces.

Cover the pan with a lid and cook on low flame till the Ivy gourd slices and Long yard beans pieces become soft and cooked well.Stir in between.Switch off the flame.

A tasty and delicious Tendli  & Jeeve Chawli Upkari is ready to serve as a side dish with rice.
